With the Kangaroo 1 oz Silver 2024, the Perth Mint has expanded its range of bullion coins. Fans of the Australian mint have been able to buy a .9999 silver bullion coin since 2016.
The Australian Kangaroo in silver has various security features. For example, the letter “A” of “Kangaroo” has a laser mintmark engraved on it, which is only visible on the investment coin with a magnifying glass - an effective protection against counterfeiting. The border on the value and motif side is also strongly corrugated.
The motif side of the 1 ounce silver coin depicts a red giant kangaroo surrounded by the rays of the sun. It also shows the inscription "AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO", the year of issue, the fine weight (1 oz), the fineness (9999 silver) and the traditional 'P' mint mark of the Perth Mint. The value side is reserved for the picture of King Charles III and the face value of one Australian dollar.
