Lunar Goat 1 oz Silver 2027 from the Perth Mint
The Lunar Goat 1 oz - the showpiece of the eighth edition of the Lunar series. No other bullion coin series from the Perth Mint is as popular worldwide. With a mintage of only 300,000 in the 1-ounce version, these silver coins always sell out quickly.
These magnificent silver coins celebrate the Year of
the goat, the eighth of twelve animals associated with
the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.
Meticulously struck from 99.99% pure silver, the
coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian
Currency Act 1965.
The coin’s reverse depicts a mature goat, a young goat and a baby goat grazing peacefully. The image embodies the auspicious phrase “Three Goats Bring Bliss” symbolising the end of winter and the arrival of spring, the renewal of all things and prosperous new beginnings. Featured in the design is a plum blossom tree representing purity, resilience and hope. Also included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘Goat’, the inscription ‘GOAT 2027’, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The coin’s obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the weight, fineness and the monetary denomination.
Authentication feature
The coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the form of a micro-engraved letter within the design. Intended to make the coin significantly more difficult to counterfeit, it is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
