The Britannia 2025 is based on a design that first saw the light of day in 1987. At that time, the British issued the Britannia, the first ever European gold investment coin. The designer Philip Nathan created the motif of "Standing Britannia" at that time. It shows the Algerian compatriot mother on a cliff with her three insignia. Helmet, trident and round shield. The floor-length dress blows with a lot of phatos in the wind, the Union Jack, the national flag of Great Britain, can be seen on the shield. In addition, the Britannia still holds a small olive branch, a sign of peace, in her hand. All important key figures are combined again in the border. New Design 

While the 1 ounce Britannia came on the market with the same motif in the first few years, different designs were released from the 10th anniversary in 1997. It was not until 2012 that the Royal Mint reverted to the original motif. From 2017, radial lines were added in the background.
