Motif and propertiesof the gold coin
The personified mother of the country, Britannia, can be seen on the motif side. She is holding a trident in her left hand, a shield and an olive branch in her right. The entire background shows the finest undulating micro-engravings. In addition, the shield is refined with heraldic tinctures that symbolize the colors of the Union Jack.
A small circle can be seen in the lower left third of the picture. Depending on the viewing angle, either a trident or a lock can be seen here. The latter is intended to symbolize the great security of this investment coin. The name of the coin, the year, the fine weight (1/2 ounce) and the fineness (999.9 gold) are embossed in the legend. The design is by Philip Nathan.
