At the beginning of the 19th century, President Theodore Roosevelt advocated a new coin that was less subject to wear and tear. The result was the so-called "Incuse Indian Head" which was minted between 1908 and 1929 as a 2 1/2 and 5 US dollar coin. In contrast to almost all of its predecessor coins, it had an "incuse" design - similar to that of antique seals or gemstone pegs. This minting process meant that the coins in circulation were exposed to far less abrasion and damage than raised motifs. Here you have the opportunity to purchase a replica of this historical coin in 999 fine silver, which is in great demand in the USA.
The former value side shows the American eagle with an olive branch. In addition, the motto "E Pluribus Unum" from the Great Seal of the United States and the motto "In God We Trust", as can be found on virtually all circulation coins. On the motif side, the name-giving Indian head is shown in profile with full headdress. It is surrounded by a total of 13 stars and the words "Liberty" (freedom). This (then) completely new design goes back to the American sculptor and artist Bela-Lyon Pratt. This copper coin has no face value and is delivered by us in plastic bags.
An important note: The coin 1 weighs one Avoirdupois ounce. Accordingly, the fine weight is = 28.3495 grams, which is worth mentioning because bullion coins are usually weighted in Troy ounces (~ 31.103g).
