Kookaburra 1 oz Silver - 2019
The Kookaburra 1 oz is one of the most famous silver coins of the Australian Perth Mint and has been issued annually since 1990. The Kookaburra (known in Germany as the Laughing Hans; a bird from the kingfishers family) now adorns the face of the popular investment coin with motifs that change every year.
In the 2019 edition, a kookaburra is shown on a branch in the water, the setting sun can be seen in the background. The Kookaburra 2019 is minted with a purity of 99.99 percent. The fine weight, fineness, year of manufacture and the name of the expressive silver coin are embossed in the legend. There is also a small P - the traditional abbreviation for the Perth Mint.
On the value side is the portrait of Her Royal Highness Elizabeth II. It was last adapted across the Common Wealth in 2016. The silver kookaburra has an official face value of 1 Australian dollar. The Perth Mint has capped the mintage with 500,000 pieces worldwide. Due to this limitation, collectors have also found increasing interest in the silver coin in recent years.
