These magnificent silver coins celebrate the Year of
the Dragon, the fifth of twelve animals associated with
the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.
Meticulously struck from 99.99% pure silver, the
coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian
Currency Act 1965.
Design and characteristics
Each coin’s reverse portrays Portrays an alert dragon, with another dragon, stretching toward a budding branch. Also included in the design is the Chinese character for "dragon," the inscription "DRAGON 2024" and The Perth Mint's "P" mint mark.
The obverse of each coin depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II, the weight and fineness, and the monetary
denomination.
