American Eagle 1 oz Silver 2025
The 1 oz American Silver Eagle is the world's most famous bullion coin and is minted by the United States Mint. Like the American Gold Eagle, the Silver Eagle was named after an old US gold coin from the founding years.
Motif & properties of the silver coin
On the front of the American Silver Eagles, the Walking Liberty (striding goddess of freedom) is depicted with flowing robes. In the background you can see the rising sun, above the caption "Liberty" (freedom). The year and the "In God we trust" typical of US currency coins are of course not missing either. The back is decorated with the Great Seal of the United States of America, in the middle of which the bald eagle is emblazoned. Hence the name US Silver Eagle. The face value of 1 dollar makes the American Silver Eagle an official currency in the USA. The American government guarantees its fineness (.999), fineness (1 oz) and weight. The 1 oz Silver Eagle has been minted in large numbers with the same motif since 1986. Since then, over 565 million Silver Eagles have been coined.
