Kangaroo 1 oz Platinum 2025

The Australian Perth Mint has been issuing the "Australian Kangaroo" since 1989 and quickly became one of the most popular investment coins worldwide. But the famous motif has only been available in a 99.95% platinum version since 2018. The coin replaced the "platypus", which up to now had been one of the few 1 oz platinum coins commercially available in larger quantities. 

The coin has an official face value of AUD 100. Together with the portrait of QKing Charles III, this is shown on the value side.  The picture side of the 1 ounce kangaroo shows a red giant kangaroo. A design that goes back to Stuart Devlin. The jumping man is surrounded by a stylized jagged wreath which is supposed to symbolize the Australian sun. The background is matted and therefore looks particularly classy.  T

here is also the inscription "AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO", the year of issue (2025), the fineness (9995 platinum) and the traditional 'P' mint mark of the Perth Mint.  In addition, this 1 ounce investment coin in platinum has various security features. For example, in the letter “A” of “Australia”, a tiny little mint market is engraved by laser, which can only be seen with a magnifying glass - an effective protection against counterfeiting.  The border on the value and motif side is also strongly corrugated.

This complex design is also a testament to the high minting quality of this coin. 

As a bullion coin, the 1 ounce platinum kangaroo is issued for an unlimited period. The actual mintage are so small that this coin could also be of interest to collectors. The motif remains the same, only the year on the back changes.
