Buy the third edition of this successful and popular series of coins from the Royal Mint UK in 999 fine silver. The Royal Arms silver coin continuies a centuries-old tradition. Even if the coat of arms is clearly defined from a heraldic point of view, there is still scope. Every ruler, but also every area, sets its own accents on the symbol for royal rule. And so in 2019 the heraldry artist Timothy Noad developed his very own interpretation of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (as the full name is) for this 1 ounce silver coin with a limited mintage of 100,000 pieces.

Motif of the silver coin

In the middle is the standardized shield of the United Kingdom with its four quadrants. Two with the Lions of England, a harp for Ireland and a rampant lion, surrounded by lily tendrils, for Scotland. A garter winds around the shield, on which the French motto Honi soit qui mal y pense (be ashamed of those who think badly ”) can be read (partially covered).

To the right of this is the crowned and very aggressive-looking English lion as a portrait. To the left is the Scottish unicorn - also only cut out. Here you can especially see the reinterpretation of the classic motif by the artist.

Below is the motto of the English monarch Dieu et mon droit (God and my right). There is also a thistle, the Tudor Rose, and a shamrock, which represent the national symbols of Scotland, England and Ireland respectively. The ensemble is crowned by the St. Etward's crown.

The background of the silver coin is simply filled with the finest radial lines. Fineness (999 silver), fine weight (1 oz) and year are also embossed.

The reverse shows the most recent portrait of Elizabeth II, the official face value of £ 2, and the Queen's motto. The background here is an openwork guilloché design.
